P Posterior Space Closure
Periodontal appliances treat conditions caused by periodontitis (gum disease)
Periodontal disease can cause spaces between the surfaces of adjoining teeth. This often leads to food impaction that is not only annoying but can worsen the periodontal condition. This excess space is reversed with this appliance. Wires are clasped around the teeth while "restriction" screws are activated as needed to close the spaces.
